A question about Pesto sauce? Do you just use it alone?
I was at the grocery store yesterday and saw some Pesto sauce. I am going to try it this evening but I have a question. Do you just put the Pesto on some pasta and eat it or do you use pesto in addition to the normal sauce?
I don't have a clue????

2. Pesto is a sauce that can go directly on the pasta.
You can also mix it with butter and/or cream, and/or serve it up with some veggies in the sauce, such as green beans or some julienned zucchini or mushrooms, etc.

But yes, pesto can be used as is.

5. Sometimes
I've bought pesto pasta from the store and just added it to the pasta. My mum makes her own pesto pasta and before she adds it to the pasta she puts (grated) Parmesan cheese in it, it smells heavenly in the pasta.

Pesto also makes for some nice bread dip as well. put a small mound of pesto and then put olive oil around it.

6. Pesto on pasta alone.
But there really isn't a rule and I've combine pesto and tomato sauce and it too is very good. Together they make a very basil rich tomato sauce.

They compliment each other very well.
