Paper help, please! How would you define a "personal mission statement"?
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 12:43 PM by ZombieNixon
Once again, riding the ragged edge of disaster, I turn to the Lounge for paper help. I figure since you all keep me up at night and prevent me from doing my work so that I may grace you with my vainglorious presence, you might as well put something back into me every once in a while. }(

I have to write a paper, the first part of which is about "my personal mission statement."

:wtf: does this *mean*? How would you define a "personal mission statement"?

1. how do you want to live your life?
what things are important to you that you want to have present/accomplish in your life?
More like overriding things, not specific "I want to go to Europe" accomplishments. What kind of person do you want to be?

Is that vague enough? :D

3. Wouldn't that be a "vision statement" ?
I thought missions were supposed to be a bit specific.

2. What class is it for? What directions/guidelines did they give you?
Also, what bob said.

4. My business ethics course
Here are the guidlines:

Write a personal mission statement.
What, for you, is “virtue”. Well-being. Arête etc.
Be specific. Unpack this. As fully as possible.
How do these virtues, embolden your “mission.”
What is your focus. What do you envision?

5. Sometimes I think its OK
to make it clear in your response that you feel the question is beyond stupid. Which in this case it is.

A lower division college student is supposed to have some grand vision of his life all the sudden? Please.

I normally do mine spur of the moment and right now I think I'd entitle mine "This Ain't Cambridge, Mass" and go from there. The theme would be that my current goal in life was to act dumb and have some fun :D

6. I might do that.
This is only a rough draft that doesn't get graded, so I can redo the whole thing when I plan out my life in the next week. :D
