Wow, it's "count the iPods" at the Olympics this year
All these skiiers and snowboarders are wearing headphones. I absolutely LOVE it!!! The only thing I wish they'd do is tell us what they listen to as they go down the hill. :D

For my money, the Winter Games is 1000X better than the Summer Games. My daughter is a figure skater thought, so perhaps I'm biased.

1. Not biased.
I like winter better than summer too. I love to watch luge, skeleton, speed skating and (of course) hockey-preferrable womens.

2. Winter is indeed way better than summer Olympics. Still, I would rather
that the ignorant sports people who feel the need to fill their every waking moment with noise, especially the ones doing outdoor winter sports, had the intelligence not to pump noise into their ears and actually listen to and become one with the outside ambience.

Sad comment on the world today, that even olympic competitors need to shove shit down their ears while outside and while competing in something important.

3. Well, I could swing both ways there
I could very easily be one with nature and my surroundings and really absorb myself in the silence, but there ain't no real "nature" at the games. I could just as easily pump in something really good to rock-and-roll my ass down that hill in record time. :D

4. As a skier (definitely not Olympic caliber), I've always skiied to:
music.

It was always in my head. I'd look at a run and feel the music I would set for that particular run. So, the I-pod thing doesn't bother me one bit.

5. I noticed that!
If you're skating/snowboarding for fun, it's okay to be one with the outside ambience, but for reals, I'd want some beats.

And yeah, I'd like to know what they're listening to...
