3. Too true.
Figure skating is boring as hell. They should have to perform on fire or something.

17. It's a sport - Don't let anyone tell you differently.
Just because it relys on subjective judging doesn't make it a non-sport. Boxing and gymnastics also rely on judges to provide a winner and those are most definitely sports (especially when compared to golf ;) )

Besides, one has to look no further than the 1972 Olympic basketball game between the USSR and the USA to realize that any sport can be the victim of corruption.

20. But figure skating is completely up to the judge
In Boxing if you knock the guy out, you win. No there's some bad officials in all sports, hell look at this years Super Bowl, but you still have to do actual things to score earned points in hockey in figure skating it's up to the whims of some dumbass judge.

25. *cough* Roy Jones, Jr. *cough*
I still don't believe that something that relies on judges, especially when there are definite rules as to what qualifies as a deduction, is necessarily precluded from being a "sport." But, I'm not trying to be combative. I do understand where you are coming from. It's just that, as a rink rat, I don't agree that it's not a sport. :)
