I love that expression! When I was a child in the South I used to hear it when there was a sun shower. It seems to be a Southern thing, since all of my Yankee friends are bewildered by the expression. I wonder how it started???

I did a web search and the various expressions for sun showers are fascinating. Here's an interesting message board on the topic:

One of the other colloquialisms for a sun shower is "Fox's wedding day"....which I love. Also "Monkee's birthday.

The warm weather here is REALLY unusual.

Al and Tipper are people I hope to see in the White House 1/20/09.
