No shit -- got up a while ago because I couldn't sleep and turned on the tv. Nothing. Tried the remote. Nothing. My tv is over 10 years old but damn!

Decided to go downstairs to get on DU and started a load of wash. Washer fills up, starts, then nothing. Quits.

Shit, I probably shouldn't be touching my PC right now!

3. Yes I did -- it's fine.

I got the washer from my sister. I'm calling her as soon as I'm sure she's up to see if there is something I can do.

Buying a new tv is an expense I don't need right now. Buying a washer, too, is too much!

Edit: I called my sister and she said if water backs up in the hose the washer will stop -- it's a safety feature. She told me to just let the hose drain for awhile and the washer should be ok. Whew. That's one less thing to worry about.

4. Try reading stories to it until you can replace the TV.
But don't encourage it to sulk.

5. Arrested Development is cancelled. You don't need a TV anymore. nt
The washer could be a problem.

Good luck!

6. No offense, but can you not touch any of my stuff please?
Thanks. :)

When it rains it pours. I'm sorry to hear about your appliance woes.

I've got an 11-year-old TV myself. All the other appliances are fairly new. Don't get me started on the a/c, furnace and water heater. :scared:

7. Your tv is only 10 years old!
Hell, mine (which I just gave to my brother), is over 20 years old. It's a Philco, has 13 channels. You actually have to get up off the couch, walk over to it and turn it on! And manually change the dial channel! Still works great.

8. My husband always used to say appliances went in threes.
Translation: every time one appliance dies, two others are soon to follow. But then again, maybe it was just him.
