from what I understand, you download a small proggy, and what it does is use your unused processor cycles to calculate something having to do with DNA

6. It's a distributed computing project
If you volunteer your computer uses it's extra processing power (all the time when it's waiting for you to tell it what you want and whenever you're not using it) to work on a small part of a much larger problem. There are similar programs for SETI, etc.

10. It's not complicated to use
you download it and it runs in the background and does it's own thing. You don't have to think about it, once it's going.
