19. I thought of something yesterday that I haven't thought about in years
I got a Yardley eye make up kit complete with paint brush applicator. I remember painting my eyelids with very cool paint- iceblue, metallic green. It was so much fun- even if I got frustrated because I didn't know how to do it very well.
I still remember my first lipstick- I bought it at W.T. Grant and I covered the case in flowered contact paper to make it more attractive. LOL I felt tres grown up when I wore it! Summer between 7th and 8th grade.

that manufacture the actual fragrance. But rest assured anything you come across that has a scent to it has a better chance of coming from our company than anyone elses. From candles, to calvin klein, to avon, estee, yankee candle, p&g, etc... (We do a ton of yankee candle scents. They are yummy)

Quick question,is there a difference between "drugstore" purfumes and "department store" perfumes?

I always assumed that you must spend some decent dough to get a decent purfume. Currently I am wearing Estee Lauder's beyond paradise... I LOVE that stuff!

40. Well Brand Name In One Store Is Same As That Brand Name In Another.
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 12:31 AM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
As far as incomparable brands though, there could be a difference. Each fragrance can contain over 100 ingredients. There are thousands of different raw materials to choose from, some far more expensive and of purer quality than others. There are cheap rose oils and there are rose oils that cost thousands of dollars a kilo. Which oil they choose to use in the fragrance would make a difference, etc...

It is all about price. Some of the raw materials are expensive so the higher end fragrances that can afford the better quality essential oils will use them, while oils made cheaper may not. All in all though nowadays fragrance oils are becoming higher quality at lower prices because of walmart type competition driving the price down on the brand end, which then translates into reduced profit on our end as well. So you do have a good shot at getting good perfumes at drug stores, just not the ones that are only a buck or so in a neat little rack on the counter. Those are crap. LOL

Oh, and PM me your address, and a list of whatever mainstream fragrances you like. I could always see if we make em and send you a surprise one day. :)

43. in 1970 i bought a small bottle of Earth Oils (coconut)
it was for candle making or wearing.

i just to put a dab on once in awhile. a few years later i bought a second bottle of it.

i still have both bottles. and whenever i want to trip back to the early '70's, friends, winter, and the beginning of my teenhood--great times--i open the bottle and smell it. sometimes i put a dab on my neck so i can smell it longer.

it's funny--these two bottles of earth oil is one of the few precious trinkets i didn't get rid of across the years.

thanks for bringing it up--and the fond memories it stirred. (i'd go smell some now but i have a horrible cold)

some REAL strong powdery and oriental shit. I just can't remember the names. All I know is i used to wear the SHIT out of that stuff. Now, i hardly wear a drop. Now, very rarely, I will dab on some of the Patchouli that my boyfriend got me.

I don't know what was up with me... I had to really spray it on. But, i teach some HS kids now. And some of them like to do the same thing. One of my students pulled his bottle out in class and i got to smell it. Nothing's really changed! Lol.
