Yesterday, I bought a membership @ Costco
I had the pleasure of speaking to the UNION shop steward @ the store. She indicated that she was very happy with her wage & benefit package. The fact that her children have medical insurance is very important to her. She has real concerns about the LA lock-out virus spreading our way..... Also, she did point out that in the Sacramento area, only 2 of the 5 Costco outlets are UNION shops. Fortunately for me, the scab shops are not im my nieghborhood...... My advice is to inquire before you shop. Reward good nieghbors, punish the irresponsible ones.

1. We need a Costco out here
From what I've heard, even the non-union Costco stores treat their employees better than Wal-Mart (probably due to the union presence elsewhere in the chain).

I live maybe two miles from a Sam's Club, but the nearest Costco is in another state. Sigh.
