14. "The Big Dipper"
At Overbrook High School Wilt Chamberlain's nickname was "Dippy" as he had to dip his head down to avoid hiting it on various objects and doorways and such. Eventually it became "The Big Dipper". Players of his stature get more than one so he was also, of course, "Wilt the Stilt".

27. Chocolate Thunder (from Planet Lovtron) AKA Daryl Dawkins....
Not only did he have a cool nickname but he named his dunks too: In Your Face Disgrace, Go-Rilla Dunk, Earthquaker Shaker, Candyslam, Dunk You Very Much, Look Out Below, Yo Mama, Sexophonic, Turbo Delight, Rim Wrecker, Greyhound Bus (went coast-to-coast), Cover Your Head, and Spine Chiller Supreme.

His nickname was "Chocolate Thunder" and he claimed to be an alien from planet Lovetron where he spent off-season practicing "interplanetary funkmanship" and where his girlfriend juicy Lucy still lived.

28. The Bad Boys (Pistons in the late 80s) or Vlad the Impaler
Edited on Tue Feb-07-06 02:15 PM by noonwitch
I used to have the poster of Mahorn and Laimbeer.

Isiah was "Zeke", Vinnie Johnson was "The Microwave" and Joe Dumars was Joe Dumars.

Vlad the Impaler is/was Vladdie Konstantinov former of the Red Wings, before the accident that cost him pretty much everything.

39. Steve 'psycho' Lyons of the White Sox
Gets up, after diving back into first base after a pickoff attempt, unbuckles his pants, drops them to his ankles so he can get the dirt out of his undies. All in front of about 30,000 of his closest friends. One of the true classic moments in sports.
