Should Martin Sheen run for President?
He makes a hell of a president on The West Wing. He would follow in the footsteps of such greats as Schwarzenegger and Reagan, though as a Democrat because he was against the Iraq war.

Just a thought

1. NO
He is an actor.
Neither of those other idiots should have been in public office either.

2. And recall, he is 1st generation, Spanish-Irish. Very liberal, too.
Politics aside, he's got a lot of the qualities it really does take to get elected. Name and face recognition, the magic of celebrity.

He looks good in front of a camera.

He can act, read, and is a charismatic speaker.

Smart enough to know when to say "get me an expert."

Negatives: Has been arrested so many times for protesting it would cause problems. Has IRA ties through his mother.

Sheen for pres!

Seriously, I don't know. I'd love to support him, but "I'm not the President, but I play one on TV" seems.... not really a great endorsement. Politics, especially national and international politics, are not for amateurs. If he runs for school board and does a good job there, then state senate, then House of Reps.... or gets in the leadership of a couple of really influential NGOs... then I'd be okay with him in the office. But it's not a job for amateurs. That's why we've got problems with the current squatter. He's a rank amateur in EVERYTHING.

Better choice: Let's just move into "The West Wing." I like it in there. It's nice and cozy.
