thanks to all DU'ers - you are awesome
I am overwhelmed by your kind words of support during the most difficult time of my father's passing over the past weekend.

I can't express how much it means to me. You are the best.

A process that's tough to stand witness to, but in the end the most important thing was honoring my father's wishes. He was 86 and lived a long life.

I have a huge Irish family and I know my father would approve of the wake planned. Just wish he could be there with us in body as well as spirit.

The cycle of life goes on.

On edit: Had to change the "will" approve to "would" approve. Still getting used to the past tense.

7. I think it's very important
to honor the wishes of the sick.
Sometimes people are selfish and they don't want to let go, which of course I understand, but why would anyone want to see a loved one suffer???

Honor their wishes. I'm glad your family decided too.

Hey, feel free to PM me if you're having a rough day. I tend to think I am a good listener. :hi:
