CALL ME BACK, POTENTIAL LANDLADY.
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 10:48 AM by eyesroll
We toured an apartment yesterday that we loved.

We had a couple more stops, so we took applications, said we'd likely want to apply, and we'd be in touch. (On edit: The market out here isn't one where we have to absolutely JUMP right then and there to get an apartment.)

After our last stop (around 3:30), we called and left a message saying: "yes, we want the apartment, please let us know where we can send the applications, etc." This morning, I called a different number and left another message, this time including a "if you've already rented the place, please let us know anyway" line.

Nothing so far.

Waiting sucks.

Aaaaaargh.

1. Still no word, eh?
Well, that sucks. :(

Just remember it's not nearly as urgent to her as it is to you. So not hearing anything yet isn't necessarily a bad sign. :)

2. I know -- and it's also not that urgent to us in the long run.
I gave notice to my landlord, but that gives me until the end of March to move. And J has his apartment until June (or until he finds a subletter, which he won't even try until there's a signed lease), so if I get REALLY stuck, and my current landlord won't let me extend the leave time, I won't be totally homeless. It'd be tight in J's apartment, but doable, even with the pets.

Plus, none of the properties we've looked at have sucked -- this one is just REALLY nice -- so we know the housing stock is good and plentiful.

I'm just impatient. God forbid the potential landlady have her own house, job, kid and etc. to worry about. She needs to call me NOW DAMMIT. :D

6. Indeed.
Even if it is, as I mentioned in my earlier reply to dolo, non-urgent.

I'm now wondering how often is too often to bug them. (Every other day? Every day?)
