I need a good dialup isp as backup. Who do I pick?
I've had problems with my cable connection when it rains for over a year! They're supposed to get it fixed finally, on Feb. 6th, but it's been sooo long, I'm skeptical.

I want to get a backup dialup isp service, but after looking online for several hours now, I don't know who to choose.

There are some reports that once you sign up with some of them, it's a nightmare to get them to stop billing you! Some have line drop problems all the time.

Can anybody make any suggestions?

I also want unlimited access. I listen to the radio via the net most of the night, and I don't want to have to be tracking time on line!

2. Well..
This is 2006.. 99.5% of ISP's don't track your usage per minute.

But.. If you travel I would use Earthlink. They have a local number everywhere. If you don't travel I would look in the phone book. I can find 20 local ISP's that are < $10 per month..

3. I'll second the EarthLink recommendation.
Never had a problem with it going down. $21.95/mo. for unlimited access.

4. I use PeoplePC as a backup and it's only $9.95 a month.
