Has anyone seen any good comedy movies latey?
Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 11:42 PM by DanCa
I really wish I could go out and see horror movies and war movies like I used too but I just can't get into them any more. I am not knocking the generes mind you but right now I need some light hearted escapism fluff. If you know of any such movies please list them. Thanks Danny.

1. Saved
Just watched it last night on cable. It is hilarious. It's about a Christian high school. I highly recommend it.

14. Mean Girls is funny, so is 40 Year Old Virgin...
I didn't think I'd like it, the title brought to mind dumbass "American Pie"-like movies, but Steve Carell and the supporting cast are FANTASTIC.

17. That was very clever.
Listen for voices by Peter Sallis (Wallace), Helena Bonham Carter (Totty), and Ralph Fiennes (Yes, Ralph Fiennes). Don't forget the penguin feature that aired before it. I assume that will be packaged with The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

10. I laughed all through Rat Race
The premis didn't seem all that exciting, but once I watched it, I thought that it was very funny.

15. "But I'm A Cheerleader"
All-American girl whose right-wing parents decide she is a lesbian and pack her off to a 'straightening' camp. The jokes let up a little after about 30 minutes, but it's such a wonderful film it doesn't matter. The cast is great - the brilliant Natasha Lyonne plays the lead - and there's some very John Waters moments (& FWIW, his last film - "A Dirty Shame" is hilarious). It's a few years old & I bought it dirt cheap (£2-99).

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0179116/

Other good comedies I've seen recently - "Only Human", "The 40-Year Old Virgin" & "Kung-Fu Hustle" and "Roger Dodger" & "Torremolinos 73" which are more comic dramas.
