1. I had to go with rice. It's integral to Cajun, Mexican, and Chinese...
cooking. I do love pasta and potatos, though.

She could cook most anything and make it good. Then a neighbor taught her Cajun cooking!

24. Make mine brown, black, or wild rice.
I like the earthy undertones in the texture and the taste. Though a cup of a good white jasmine or basmati will be endangered in my presence!

26. Garlic mashed potatoes: Nature's most perfect food
Our former favorite restaurant used to serve garlic mashed potatoes with entrees. Now they're serving Yukon Gold with NO garlic. This is a crime against humanity.

I'm not happy.

29. Taters for me,
pan fried preferred. I eat them boiled, mashed, french fried, oven fried, creamed, baked, twice baked, scalloped, hash browned, roasted or grilled. That's just the white & gold ones. :)

I love pasta & rice too but if you count potato chips, then I eat more potatoes than the others.

39. I'd never heard of potato pasta. I Googled it...
ITALY
Potato Pasta
(Potato Gnocchi)

6 russet potatoes, peeled, quartered
2 tablespoons salt
2 eggs, beaten
4 cups all-purpose flour

Boil the potatoes until cooked, about 20 minutes. Drain well. Rice potatoes with a ricer and place on cookie sheets to cool. Let potatoes dry out as much as possible before continuing with recipe.

Bring large stew pot of salted water to a boil.

Meanwhile, place the riced potatoes in a large bowl. Add the eggs and combine. Gradually but quickly stir in the flour.

Place the dough on a work surface and divide into 6 pieces. Adding flour as necessary, roll each piece of dough into a rope 1/2 inch wide. Slice ropes into 1/2-inch pieces. Drop gnocchi into boiling water, in batches. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes; they should rise to the surface when fully cooked. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain slightly before continuing. Toss in browned butter, sprinkle on Parmesan cheese, or coat with sauce.
