And as to your lineage, then people that eat meat are either cows, pigs or fish, etc...

20. "Eat" being a relative term, suggesting food (ingestion and digestion)
When I eat, um, otherwise, there's no ingestion nor digestion. Just gratification.

27. Interesting take.
However, plants, as you've stated, can and will only grow where they are able. See, that's where the human surpasses the plant. The human can choose a more natural, more healthy, less cruel diet. The plant has little choice.

26. Nah, cows eat steroids and chemicals with a little hay mixed in.
Avoid eating cows unless you like funding Monsanto and the Republican Party. The meat industry in America are big Republicans--far worse than Walmart. Eat a steak, support Bush, that's my motto.

30. Pounded by those in denial
I can deal with that.

Seriously, I think if more liberals understood just how corrupt the meat industry was, there'd be more vegetarians. They are as bad as the oil companies and the pharmaceuticals. They get people fired for the slightest criticism of their product, and they suppress negative scientific research through lawsuits and heavy-arm tactics that would make Abramoff blush. Smithsonian Magazine a couple years ago ran a cover story on the trend of school age children becoming vegetarians. There was nothing in the story promoting vegetarianism, only a story about kids who, for various reasons, were becoming vegetarians. The meat industry had the government agency over the magazine fire the editor and print a retraction and apology in the next issue.

Very powerful lobby, and very Republican. They were behind Bush's cell phone photo op with a figure skater in the 2000 winter Olympics. Bush appeared in the stands behind some young skater, who got all excited and called her mom, and handed Bush the cell phone to speak to mom. The media thought it was so cute, and talked about it for days. Turns out it was all staged--the young skater became an endorser for the meat industry who had given Bush a ton of money for his campaign, and in exchange for the money Bush did a photo op that amounted to a commercial during the winter Olympics.
