So... will the new Miami Vice movie be killer or DOA?
http://www.miamivice.com/main.html

Saw the trailer recently, and was a bit surprised as I hadn't heard it was even in the works. I personally believe it will be awesome, mainly because it was always a great series to begin with, and most importantly because Michael Mann is involved. The series was his baby, and he specializes in cops and robbers stuff (my all time fave Mann flick was James Caan's "Thief").

I think this flick will be one for the books. I'm excited.

It's gonna be a great year for good flicks.

1. It'll be a good year for remakes and ripoffs...
The only saving grace for remaking this into a movie is Michael Mann, but Hollywood's pathetic when it comes to originality these days.

3. I'll bet you're the one who hated Lord Of The Rings because
it didn't follow the books.

(Just kidding.) :toast:

5. Nope, I actually loved the LOTR films
I have read the books a few times, but I do not have time to determine if all of the esoteric details were put into the movies.

4. Killer.
Who cares what that movie is about. Collin Farrell and Jamie Fox are eye candy, and judging from the promo picture, cool as hell. I watch SWAT over and over. It's not even that great of a movie, but Farrell and Samuel L Jackson are just cool as hell in it.

7. If it's like the series, and I have no reason to think it won't,
it'll be one of the shittiest most craptastic movies ever made, right up there with Top Gun.

9. Looks less flamboyantly gay than the original series.
Just another sad remake, I believe.
