A whole vacation day used for a friggin' gas meter reading
My meter is in the house and every year the gas company sends me a letter telling me they will turn off my gas if I don't let them in to read the meter. I am the only person who lives in my house so I have to take a day off to wait for the 2 minute reading. "No time for the old in and out, just come by to read the meter".
So here I am watching an ancient episode of "Unsolved Mysteries". This one is so old they are about to show an Amber Alert on the Lindberg baby.
But my parents house has an inside meter. That can really be annoying if you are never home during the day. You would think they could do thinks electronically by now.
Hey I kinda know how you feel. I spent a day and half vacation to meet the UPS guy for a couple of deliveries last month. The reason? The vendor was a "restricted delivery" vendor under the UPS contract. I wasn't allowed to pick up the packages from the UPS depot in my hometown nor was I allowed to redirect my packages to my job site.
