It's good to have a goal in life...

Grant Everson was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting death of his mother, Nancy Everson, at their house in Chaska. Three of Grant Everson's friends also have been arrested. Grant Everson and three friends were charged this morning in the shooting death of Everson's 52-year-old mother in a botched murder-for-money plot in Chaska. Everson, 20, Christopher D. Fuhrman, 20, and Joel M. Beckrich, 20, are charged with aiding and abetting first-degree premediated murder and attempted first-degree murder. Fuhrman is also charged with aiding, abetting and conspiring in second-degree intentional murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder and aiding and abetting first-degree murder.

Michael John Gulden, 17, is charged, for now as a juvenile, with aiding an offender after the fact in a first-degree murder and aiding an offender to avoid arrest in a first-degree murder. Everson, Fuhrman and Gulden live in Chaska. Beckrich is from Burnsville.

The criminal complaint against Beckrich says that he told police that he was the one who shot Nancy Everson with a shotgun and that Grant Everson was there. A hearing is scheduled for late this morning in the case in the Carver County Courthouse in Chaska.

Nancy Everson was shot to death early Sunday in her home in Chaska, but her husband, Thomas, escaped out a window. He is expected to read a statement to the media after the hearing. The Everson family attorney, Marsh Halberg, said at least one of the suspects told investigators that they planned to use money to start a coffee shop in Amsterdam.
