Give me help here fellow DUers!
I am a non-typical college student. I'm 38 and re-educating for a new career. I would like to go somewhere for my spring break which is the last week of March. However I would like to go to somewhere that isn't going to be besieged by 19 and twenty year-olds. I figure Florida, Cancun, Jamaica, as well as some ski areas are out of the question.

I'm thinking skiing or Caribbean type trip, either would be fine. Any ideas or suggestions? I'm kind of at a loss.

Thanx

Freethought

1. I really enjoyed my time in Trinidad & Tobago, and in the Turks and Caicos
islands. Don't know how expensive they are these days though.

2. Duly noted! I did look into the Virgin Islands
really pricey though! I'm not talking about slightly more than Cancun or something I'm talking more expensive by a factor of 3x on up. I'm willing to spend more for some peace and quiet though.

3. Have you considered MX?
We love Playa del Carmen; lots of Canadians and Europeans, close to Cancun but not like it at all. Very laid back, nice beaches, great restaurants, very relaxing.

4. Sure! But the only ones that really came to mind
are Cancun and some of the others that are better known. And these places are in chaos when the kids show up.
Playa Del Carmen eh? I'll look into that one.

Thanks

5. I'm pushing 50 so also don't like the 'kid crowds'. I'll vouch
for this place, and have been there the past two Februarys.
Your biggest problem might be finding a place to stay!

8. I second Amsterdam.
Also, I heard that Bermuda has an older clientele because it is more expensive. Does it have to be a beach? What about a nature vacation, hiking, mountains, etc?

9. Puerto Rico!!!!
It is a part of the U. S., so no passport stuff to worry about. It is a beautiful
island and not that high on most vacation lists. I was there 5 years ago on my
school's Spring Break (I am a teacher), and I had a great time!

Wherever you decide to go, have a good time!

:hi:
