I just fell down the stairs. Nothing serious, but I'm in a lot of pain. A lot of bruises and I'm limping a bit, but nothing serious.

If I start posting weird shit, please forgive me. I just took some serious pain meds.

We've seen it coming for a while and have sorta laid plans ... put back a little $, started packing, looking for another house ... looking at the advantages.

It truly is a load off my mind because I have been struggling to keep this since I lost my decent, well-paying gig 2+ years ago. It has been sort of a slow collpase but what really kicked our ass was how cold last winter was and how deeply they gouged us on the bills.

:shrug:

It feels good not to be struggling with this albatross.

The house is falling in around us and after I got my mind wrapped around the whole idea, I realized that it is the best thing. My Mom and Grandmom bought it back in '76 and my mother, God rest her soul, hated the damned thing from 1977 on.

In the 5 years since her passing, I have come to understand why she felt that way. Wrapping my mind around it made me feel a hundred pounds lighter and 20 years younger.

It all serves the good or God's will or the Cosmic Wheel or ... well, it will be fine.

11. I had a bad experience with stairs last year

I was running down the stairs so I could hear a Senate Unanimous Consent Agreement (during consideration of the Iraq resolution) better and I tripped and fell. I ended up breaking my heel and had to wear a cast for a month...oddly enough, I got the cast on 25 October 2002. ;(

our abode was struck by lightning a couple weeks ago and we crashed everything that was plugged in. Lost 2 tvs, vcrs, a dvd player, two phones, answering machines, cable modems, hard drives (that's why I was offline for about 5 days) refrigerator. Oh well....just glad that we weren't here at the time.
