Nardwuar grates on me something fierce, but I really enjoy him. And I particularly like how Courtney Love loathes him so much.

I think it's the Davy Jones fan club from Tiger Beat. OMG, that one is really funny. It also has the Smugglers video for "Vancouver B.C." on it. :D

There's a 2 hour "best of" video kicking around, somewhere (Videomatica in Vancouver has one rental copy, but it's long out of print).

It has that, and studio segments from his cable access show. One with Jim Rose (the circus freakshow guy) eating lightbulbs. It's... manic. Nardwuar is fucking losing it, and callers are calling and hanging up, etc.

It's great.

I used to call into CITR and hassle Nardwuar all the time when I lived in Vancouver. It's actually pretty easy to get him worked-up.

I mean, the Stooges were an essential part of my upbringing, but they're responsible (along with the Velvets and the Ramones) for more shitty bands forming than The Grateful Dead or Humble Pie or Yes ever were.

I can't listen to 'em anymore; their records never reveal any more secrets to me on the 566th playing than they did on the 4th playing.
