Crispin Glover Tripping On Acid While On the David Letterman Show
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 02:30 PM by FVZA_Colonel
http://www.thatvideosite.com/view/1453.html

At first it seemed like an act, but... damn, he was fucked up.

On Edit: I love how Glover wanted to arm wrestle Letterman near the end of the interview, right before Dave just walks off the set.

1. I swear to god people go on those shows fucked up all the time.
Half the guests seem drunk or high or on something...it makes it SO much more entertaining, though sometimes a little creepy.

7. Yeah, its more fun.
There was some actress on the Carson Daly show last week that was not hiding the fact she had been smoking pot. It was pretty funny.

I mean, he could honestly be the only person worse than Jay Leno at interviewing people.

27. I honestly don't know.
He is the worst interviewer on television, hits on practically every female guest on his pathetic show, had to resort to ripping off the idea of "Juggies" from the Man Show (and when you steal from them, you're fucking desperate), and was one of the key people responsible for the Great Pop Explosion in the late 90's.

And his guests sit to his left instead of his right, which makes him different from all the others...

4. He's that weird in real life
He used to be listed in the LA phonebook--he still may be--and when you called, you got his answering machine which had a long, meandering, bizarre message from Glover about art he was working on and moons and pyramid power. I kid you not.

he was working with Trent Harris before that though (Orkley Kid) so maybe Harris built Rubin's character around Crispin Glover(?) because those were definitely the shoes...

on his answering machine. He had his phone # printed on the liner notes of his "Let it Be" CD. I've met him a couple of times and he is a little off. I saw his perform at First Avenue, and when I had him autograph one of his "books" he acted like *I* was the strange one.

21. yeah, yeah!
He was interviewed in "Spin" once, and he insisted on having his home number printed in the article, or he wouldn't do the interview.

And his art... wow.

The one piece that sticks in my mind is this rotating music box sort of thing. When you opened the lid, a bunch of tiny ceramic dinosaurs on a carousel sank into a foam "tar pit" to the tune of "Love Me Tender".

I have his CD... it's brilliant.

Glover is a performance artist in the Kaufman-type. He created that nervous character and wanted to try it out on Letterman. It was the basis for his Rubin Farr character in Rubin and Ed.

Glover is one of my favorite actors, but he is a FREAK!

He took some manual on the extermination of rats from the 1800s, then deleted every fourth or fifth word or so, so that it's an almost total syntax-stew. Hilarious.

24. that was one of the most wonderfully weird things
I have ever seen on TV. Glover was so out there, whatever his motivation or performance rap, and Letterman appeared to be so stunned. I love how Letterman messes with the 4th wall the way he does.

although LEtterman spraying Richard Simmons with a fire extinguisher was great performance art, too.

Lately it's just Dave and tedious actors/actress drones. Boring.

Crispin Glover is one of the most underrated actors of my generation, IMO. He's absolutely brilliant and makes an impression while performing even in the crappiest of roles.

38. He was not on acid, that had to be an act.
Glover is a brilliant actor, and that was the same type of act Andy Kaufman used to do on Saturday Night Live. Watch his hands and feet. He's in control, he kicks at Letterman wearing extreme platform shoes and doesn't lose his balance, he picks up the newspapers and his case without fumbling. He's too controlled to be on acid. The people I've seen on acid don't stay even like that--they get fast, then slow, they have no balance.

Damn funny man. (and if he was on acid, damn good tripper)

44. My friend's picture is on the back of his album -- the album that
has the song "Clowny Clown Clown." My friend is a graphic artist and worked for the company that was doing the album cover. He happened to by walking by and Crispin Glover asked him if he could take his picture wearing a clown mask. My friend agreed, and is now on the back of the album cover.

Clowny Clown Clown

I was walking on the ground
I didn't make a sound
Then...I turned around
And I saw a clown

Had a frown
Stood on a mound
Started barking like a hound

oh oh oh
~clown clown clown~

When I came to it I found
It showed me something that was round
So..we became great friends
And late in life... he got sick

I gave him some soup but he got worse
And asked for its purse
It got it
But it was empty
So it cried aplenty

I wondered what to do

I didn't know what to think
So I got a drink

And then I showed it something that was round
And it died
Smiled
Fell on the ground

~clown clown clown~

Thinking back about those days with the clown
I get.. teary eyed
And... really... snide

I think
That deep down
I hated that clown

But not as much
As Mr. Farr
I'm gonna go smoke a cigar

~clown clown clown~

I was walking on the ground
And I didn't make a sound
And then I turned around
And I saw a clown

Clown

Clowny Clown Clown
Huh Huh

I hate you clown
Your ugly frown
Smiling Lips

I'm think I'll clip you across the nose clown
Huh

Want this cigar
It'll get you real far
heheheh
Like Mr. Farr
Get it? heheh
Mr. Farr

Clown

CLOOOWN

~cough coughcough~

See what a cigar'll do? heheh
