Can I put an entire forum on "ignore"?
Really. GD has become a mess of epic proportions, yet I still can't keep myself from looking. It's like having a sore in your mouth. You know its going to hurt, but you just gotta keep sticking your tongue in it and cringing from the pain that results.

It's a first for me: I genuinely like a particular candidate, but find myself wanting to wring the necks of many of his supporters. Yes, Clarkies, I'm looking in your direction.

I'm actually very optimistic about next year's election. We had a majority of voters last time. We're going to gain most of the Green voters from 2000. We're going to gain "swing" voters who are dissatisfied with their prior vote for *. I don't see us losing any Democratic voters from the last election.

Clark, Dean, Kerry..... I'm comfortable with each of you. I have reservations about each of you as well, but I'm NOT willing to denegrate any of the candidates to further my own agenda. That would make me an asshat.

<prods cold sore to make sure it still hurts> Yep. It still does. Ouch.

1. Fair enough, but you know you just started a flame-war, right?
None of us wants the GD war to come into the Lounge.

2. I wasn't trying to start a flame-war. Honestly.
If that's what it turns into, I'll ask a mod to lock this up. I'm just sick of the crap, and wish it would stop.

4. I Understand What You Mean...
... but I don't believe you can put an entire forum on ignore. You just have to use your own willpower to stay away from it. --- But you're right, it's just like rubberneckers on the beltway... they've just gotta slow down to look at the accident (as though they haven't seen a hundred of them already.)

A little while back, I just started putting "troublemakers" on ignore. I'd purposely venture into the trainwreck threads to see who started them and to see who bickered the most and would put them on ignore (temporarily of course).

You'd be AMAZED at how clean and managable GD became (almost like using Miss Breck with conditioner).

Eventually, after the flames died down and people started acting like humans again, I took everyone off ignore (except for one backstabber).

I'm guessing this is another cyclical ebb and flow of hostilities. It will pass.

11. I suppose I CAN!
"Big Al's" is a titty-bar in Peoria that I used to ....um....drive by. It's also the nickname of a drummer that I used to work with. He was large and in charge.

7. Sweetie
The Clark contingent here has it's share of fuckwits, I will be the first to admit it. However, they really are in the minority. Every candidate has them, and some of Clark's are the worst, as are some of Dean's and Kerry's. Needless to say, I feel your pain.

9. I'm aware of that.
It's just that the screaming minority goes overboard. It's distasteful, and distracting. I genuinely like the general, but a few of his followers make me want to puke with their vehemence.

10. Hey, same here
If I told them what I really thought of them, I'd probably get banned, so I don't!
