4. Unless you're some kind of country yokel who LIKES riding to the
convenience store on your lawn mower.

Yes, I've seen an entire family pass before me while riding lawnmowers with shopping bags on the back. In Iowa.

7. Yee haw.
Well gooolllly. I reckon me n' my kin-folk best be gittin in the ol pick up next time we wanna go to town, 'stead ridin' the ol' mower, huh?

Lord. Not everyone in Iowa is a moron. We have our fair share, but I bet you I can find a hick in every state. In fact, if I have my facts correct (and I will look for proof) Iowa has the highest per-capita ratio of college graduates than any other state (at least it was true as of printing time for a book I have printed in 2000).

Hicks indeed.

8. 'Scuse me?!
Happen to live in rural Missouri, and am as far from the stereotypical farm dweller as you can get. In fact I feel sorry for you folks who live in some large urban area. Nasty smelling air, noise 24/7, packed on top of each other like sardines, little or no natural beauty whatsoever. Yeah, been there, done that, got the hell out.

16. But we are smarter!
Regarding SAT scores:

http://www.washtimes.com/metro/20050830-103030-6569r.htm

"Among the states nationally, Iowa had the highest cumulative score with 1204, followed by Illinois with 1200 and North Dakota with 1195. Georgia and South Carolina each had the lowest score of 993."

Try northwest lower Michigan. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Admittedly, not EVERYTHING is great in the Midwest.

23. I know how to spell just fine, it's the typing that gets me.
Of course with the money I save on rent, I could hire someone to do it for me.
