Good Thursday Morning, Everybody!
:donut::hi:
How the heck are you today!? I hope you had a good nights sleep! Two more days of work until the weekend! :woohoo: I have to work all weekend this week, and I have to work a split shift on Sunday. Inventory, don't you know. x(

The weather down here has been fantastic! Yesterday it was 75 degrees and today we're looking for a high of 78! :bounce: I love it down here in Florida!

6. I am doing just fine
I am off tomorrow, so it is my last day of work for this week. I have someone to read of my water or energy use from last year. They come between 11am and 12.30pm. Great time, huh?
So I decided to take the day off and have an early start to drive to my mom.

Even better that you can leave for your Mom's early! Are you wanting to be there to watch them as they take the reading or something?

Leaving a piece of paper on the door? You could make up any numbers you wanted. I had the cab;e guy over here yesterday to check my cable modem so that was another reason I had to clean up this place somewhat too.

I have troubles getting out of bed. I wake up when my alarm clock starts playing music. Then I hit the snooze button doze a bit getting more and more awake. And then I come to a point were I fall asleep again for a short moment. And when I reached that point it is hell getting out of bed. It takes me about an hour now to move my ass from underneath the warm covers in the cold air

Next weekend will be bigger. The SOs birthday is the 20th, but we're going to celebrate it on the 22nd since he has to work all day that Friday. He wants to go out to eat at a nice restaurant and a Yankees baseball cap -- and that's it. I like to make a bigger deal out of my birthday than he does. :D

12. Good morning Clint.
:hi:

Not quite 75 here, in fact there was quite some frost and ice this morning.

As I was getting up (or rather as I was being a lazy sod in bed) this morning, they played some music which was written in Tallahasse (by a chap called Ernö Dohnányi) - I thought of you.

At the moment I'm listening to Jehan Alain, quite a tragic story he was killed at the very young age of 29 defending France during the Nazi invasion in 1940.

23. He was Hungarian
but moved to Tallahassee to avoid the Nazis - he was a professor of music at Florida State University.

To be honest, I hadn't heard of him until today. The piece they played was his Concertino for harp and chamber orchestra (Op.45).

One doesn't really think of Tallahassee as a great centre for composition - but folk do spring up from the oddest places now and then.

28. I find it fascinating to hear about muscians caught up in world events
Carl Orff had a very ambiguous relationship with the Nazis. Several French organists were severely affected by the war. Olivier Messiaen wrote one of his most wonderful pieces of music whilst actually being held as a P.o.W. by the Nazis (Quator pour le fin de temps).

Shostakovich and the whole episode of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, the 4th and 5th Symphonies due to the very public run-in with Stalin in the pages of Pravda.

Going back a few hundred years - William Byrd managing to be very close to Queen Elizabeth I despite being Roman Catholic.

So much joy you can give to each brand new bright tomorrow
Make me happy through the years never bring me any tears
Let your arms be as warm as the sun from up above
Bring me fun bring me sunshine and bring me love

86. Dictionary.com says
Unstylish, clichéd, or outmoded (chiefly British slang). I never knew it was only used over here.

Increasingly there a slight ironic useage, along the lines of "so bad it's good" - hence my description of it as "gloriously naff".

Going good here. Just got my starbucks and am about to write these checks for the bills.

I noticed a considerable reduction in flies last night. Did you get that place of yours clean?

21. Hail, Scooter!
It's going fine here too! Why don't you just pay your bills online? No stamps, no trips to the post office...that's the way I pay our bills now.

I got some things done around here, but not all. I just was not in the mood.

39. I actually do pay most of my bills online...
these checks are for things like *looks at pile* charity givings, my ACLU membership, a check for a fundraiser I pledged at, and a loan to a friend.

I have to use online software planning because of all the different banks I use for different purposes, like business, personal, and stocks. It's a mess, trust me, but thank god for Quicken and the helpful people at Deutsche Bank. lol.

Anyways, maybe if you weren't doing you know what, you would have gotten that place cleaned! Mmmhmm, and here I thought it was a mild earthquake! :D

Shhhh...not EVERYBODY needs to know, Dude!

I love doing the online bill pay thing. It's SO much easier. I only have to write two checks a month now. Rent and our water bill.

Did you really think people wouldn't notice when you walked out of the store with a bucket of grease, a magazine, and a male aerobics video?

43. We're driving.
Santa gave us a DVD player for the car and I'm taking 32 movies, CDs, magazines, books, iPod, camera, refrigerator full of snacks (I'm a TERRIBLE traveler). harleydad is the chauffeur. :) We'll be on the road for 14-16 hours.

47. Wow...that's a lot of stuff!
Sounds like a LONG drive to me! It's almost 17 hours to Missouri when we drive back to visit family once a year, so I know what that kind of drive is like. x( You're going to break it into two days aren't you? Or are you going to drive straight through?

Good to see you're bending the rules there.

Hope you're having a wonderful day, and didn't have any trouble driving on the icy roads this morning.

I come in six packs. :)

No trouble on the roads today. I just swore a little at having to de-ice the car again after the mild weather we'd been having lately. :hi:

98. Really - I'll have to see if my local off-licence has some then
:P

Glad to hear it - one of my office-mate passes Chequers on the way to work, there's a very tight corner and the entrance and somebody had skidded into the gates. I'm sure that made for a fun encounter with the police at first.....
