It's so clearly the 2 rich girls who are being mocked for being so ridiculously sheltered and spoiled. It's not mockery when less than 1% of the people who watch this will be able to relate to the plight of the rich girls.
And from what I understand a lot of this (like most reality shows) was staged. Apparently Paris Hilton has spent quite a bit of time on ranches that her family owns so a lot of this they had her play up to the camera on.
And believe me I have no sympathy for Paris Hilton or her ilk, but I also have an uneasy level of discomfort regarding the knee-jerk "pile on the rich/popular/beautiful" people motif I'm seeing on a lot of tv lately. This show, that Average Joe show and so many others.
Assuming that someone is a bad person or a republican just because they are rich or attractive or popular is just as idiotic as any other assumption, based on someone being poor or from the south or the north or wherever.
Sorry for the rant. Not directed at you, just in general on this subject.
