....watched Arthur again tonight...that movie makes me laugh my ass off every time I watch it still to this day. RIP Dudley and Sir John...thanks for the laughs two decades later and forever in my heart! :loveya:
Did you love this movie too or did ya hate it?
1981
Classic hit comedy starring Dudley Moore as the charmingly witty, perpetually drunken millionaire Arthur Bach. Arthur falls in love with a waitress (Liza Minelli) who doesn't care about his money, but unfortunately Arthur's stern father wants him to marry a Waspy prima donna. The young lush turns to his wise and loyal Butler (Oscar-winner John Gielgud) for assistance and advice.
Arthur was a huge hit when released in 1981, as was its Oscar-winning theme song by Christopher Cross. Few remember that the movie was, sadly, the only one ever made by writer-director Steve Gordon, who died less than a year after the film's release. Consistently funny and heartwarming, Arthur was hailed as a tribute to the great romantic comedies of the 1930s.
Movie Quotes

Arthur: Girls, girls, girls! I love girls!
Arthur: I'm so rich, I wish I had a dime for every dime I had.
Arthur: Do you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to take a bath.
Hobson: I'll alert the media.
Arthur: Do you want to run my bath for me?
Hobson: It's what I live for.
Perhaps you would like me wash your dick for you... you little shit.
Arthur: God, Hobson, isn't life wonderful?
Hobson: Yes it is, Arthur, do your armpits.
Arthur: A hot bath is Wonderful... Girls are WONDERFUL!
Hobson: Yes, imagine how wonderful a girl who bathes would be... Get dressed.
Arthur: I race cars, play tennis, and fondle women, BUT! I have weekends off, and I am my own boss.
Hobson: Arthur, I see no reason for prolonging this conversation, unless you plan on knocking over a fruit-stand later this afternoon.
Hobson to Linda Marolla: Good luck in prison.
Arthur: Where is the rest of this moose?
