... the 90% silver halves have .36 troy ounces of silver each. At the current spot price of $9.08, they would be worth $3.27 each for their silver melt value.

22. 1937 Life mag with an article depicting "Christmas in Nazi-land," which
showed Jews hanging from gallows as tree decorations. Anyone who got that mag at the time cannot tell me that they had no idea of what was to come in Nazi Germany. I also collect Dearborn Independent newspapers from the 1920s (from ebay) which showed Ford's outright hatred of Jewish people. My college degree is in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. When people tell me that for the most part the world didn't know about the coming Holocaust and the treatment of those who experienced it I can pull out these papers and tell them that many in the world knew exactly what was happening and did nothing to prevent it.

27. The really interesting thing about
Ford and his truly vicious, visceral hatred of Jews and his promotion of anti-semitism, including writing an article about the "global problem of the international Jew" is that, when he viewed newsreels of the liberation of several camps and what the American soldiers found, he apparently became very pale and then very ill and was never the same after that. Too bad the fucker "saw the light" a little too late to do any good.

25. Wireless PCMCIA card for the laptop. Sadly, the card slot is faulty.
Both my 2wire and this new Ashton card will not work. Tried reloading the slot drivers from the WinME disk, no dice. Slot knows something is in it, but does not respond, (the sort of behavior that also makes for a bummer of a date). So, I'm stuck with the USB wireless adaptor.

I buy shit all the time on Ebay, especially car parts. Sell stuff, too.

26. I bought a CD an amateur historian
had put together on the FBI investigative files on the May 4, 1970, shootings at Kent State. He had requested the declassified files via the Freedom of Information Act, and had put together CD's of the files he received so that others could review them as well.

I was a member of the May 4 Task Force when I was a student there, and I got to know some of the students who'd been wounded and the victim's families, as well as many of those who'd been present that day or otherwise involved. So, when I saw it for sale on ebay, I had to have it and he only charged $10 for it, too.

It was absolutely fascinating and showed beyond a doubt that the FBI didn't give a damn about getting to the real truth and had total contempt for the findings of the Scranton Commission, the independent congressional commission charged with investigating it; the commission called the shootings "unwarranted, unjustifiable, and inexcusable", which it most certainly was. There's evidence to indicate that there were agents provocatuer present at Kent that whole weekend, which would just go along with the FBI's Cointelpro operation at that time. It's really fascinating what you can get on ebay at times.

68. If I know what I'm looking for. Saves search time.
You can't test drive them, so you have to have a feel for who is selling it. The Prius was so new I didn't see how it could be in bad shape, and there weren't any around. The van was with a dealer who had a good rating, and I asked a lot of questions first.

The MB is okay, but I might sell it. I bought it to run off homemade biodiesel, but then moved into an apartment, so I can't make it, and the only places in Austin to buy biodiesel are below the river. It runs well, and drives well, but since I no longer have a garage to work on it, I can't maintain it well. It only gets about 22 mpg. So it may wind up back on Ebay in the next month or two.

76. Bumpersticker and a poster
I got the "Fear & Loating in Las Vegas" drug speech poster and a rainbow bumpersticker that says "Girls Kick Ass!" My stepdad just gave me one of his jeeps and I've gotta queer it up a bit. I feel bad about driving an SUV but my car is dead, I have no money, and it was free. Sometimes, you just have to take what's available. I want a hybrid though.

77. An East German flag
and some medals. I would send a picture of the flag but I'm sure it isb familiar to those who watched the Olympics in the period 1960 to 1988.

78. A Super Nintendo video game I bought on 1/18/03
Funny thing is, I barely play video and computer games anymore. And for some reason, I haven't bought anything since on eBay.

And if anyone is interested, the first thing I bought on eBay was some New Jersey state quarters on June 10, 1999 (I have my eBay feedback profile open in another browser window, that's how I know the dates :) ).
