I am the laziest person alive
I have a paper do Monday. I know what I am going to say. I have the sources already bibliogiphied (note that however lazy I am, I am still not too lazy to invent new words). The kid and the wife are both taking naps. Even the cat is behaving himself. I should be writing a paper. It is only three pages. Its not even really a paper, its more like a memo.

And yet, I am not writing the paper. Instead, I am writing this post. Its kinda pathetic, really.

2. Failure is always an option
If you are truly lazy, why should you care?

4. Advice...

Just do the paper.

You have no pity from me :-) I have 30 reviews due Monday, as well as notecards on 10 books.

I have one more review and all the notecards left. I am working as quickly as I can--while taking DU breaks--to finish so that I can enjoy some good beer tonight!

Look at it this way--writing the paper will take an hour or two, and then you will be free and clear to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Or you can spend the next day in dread, feeling guilty, with the paper hanging over your head.

So go do the paper, and then enjoy your saturday night!

(Advice is with the best intentions--not meant to pass judgement or scold you in any way :-) :-) :-) )

5. I have read
that sometimes you need to take action before feeling the motivation. Maybe it will work for you, always just made me feel depressed at how lazy I was!

6. Why Not Start Writing the Paper as a DU Post?

Maybe that would help jump start the process.

8. Amateur!
I don't start writing any college paper shorter than 10-15 pages until the last day before deadline.

So don't call yourself lazy until you measure up to my standards *L*.

10. bingo
When I clicked on this thread, I somehow knew I would find jchild here offering advice! LOLOLOLOL.

Congratulations, jchild--you're on the home stretch.

I have the opposite problem. This a.m. I told myself that I had worked hard on my gardens all week and so I should sit in the garden and enjoy the Beverley Nichols book (Merry Hall) I am laughing my head off over. (Man is he funny.)

So I set up the chair cushions, got a cold glass of tea and my book. But I didn't even sit down because I decided I'd rather dig up a big clump of bamboo. Yessirree, that's a whole lot more fun than a cold glass of tea and a good book, isn't it? Got my nice clean clothes covered head to toe with dirt. Ruined a pair of garden gloves tunneling under the pachysandra, tracing bamboo shoots. Jammed a bamboo root under a fingernail. Dug, tunneled, swore, perspired. Swore some more. Dug, tunneled, perspired.

Hauled about 40 bamboo shoots that were 12' tall up a mountain and dug out two large containers and planted them there. Watered them. Looked at them with satisfaction.

Passed by the sorry tea with a bug swimming in it as I headed back to the house. So much for relaxation.

offended by your statement.
I'll have you know, I am known by all my friends as "Lord of the Slackers"
As one Edward G. stated in the Cincinnati Kid:
Yeah.. see, Kid...you're good..you're real good...but you'll always be second best as long as I'm alive...Yeah...

16. Au contraire, mon ami. ***I*** am the laziest person on earth!
I started to write an explanation of WHY I'm the laziest person on earth, but I was too lazy to finish it.

Will the REAL laziest person on earth please sit down? You're making the rest of us nervous.
