Serenity was awesome.
And now that I know the back story, I think it's so sad that it didn't do so well in the theaters.

I really hope word of mouth makes DVD sales and rentals huge for this film.

I LOVED the language so much. I think that was my favorite aspect.

Have you seen it? Were you a firefly fan or did you find out about it another way?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I wanted to be the first to post that. :D

3. OH wait
I saw a trailer for it a few months ago.

I like SOME Sci-fi, but I am picky. It's probably something I would like, but here may be why I haven't seen it:

What bothered me about the trailer is that it focused on the obsessive fans and how much the RAVED over it. I hate those kind of testimonal ads for movies. Like MY crusty opinion is going to be altered by what other people think. :P So I decided a movie so reliant on the screaming testimonials of mass moviegoers is something I should avoid, pain in the ass that I am.

Just show me clips from the MOVIE and let me make up my mind based on the vibe I get. I don't need drooling fans to blather and giggle incoherently. :D

But I am a crank, after all. It's probably really cool. :hi:

7. Loved it.
Oh, in structure it's pretty formulaic, but the witty dialogue and neat-o characters are winning. Best villain in ages! My wife was completely turned off by Whedon's smarminess in his introduction on the DVD--and I'm similarly persuaded--but we were huge Buffy fans, and I'm glad he's still "got it." It was great on the big screen, but the relatively low-budget special effects don't lose much impact in the smaller format.

I hadn't seen Firefly 'cause I won't watch FOX, but i will dig up a used DVD set someday and catch up.

I have had visions, lately, of the Village People singing, "You Can't Stop the Signal." Weird. :freak:
