I have bad dyskensia in my hands and sometimes my typing isn't up to par and I resent people lumping me in with freepers and the like especially when they dont give me time to edit my posts. I also hate rude people and posters who make themselves out to look tough in posts.

I came unglued over the unrestricted use of the word "sucks" once fairly recently. A few bystanders were drawn into the ensuing fray. Only through timely diplomacy was a full on flame-war averted.

And makes it a point to contradict everything I post throughout a thread. It's always a different person but they show up like clockwork. Some continue to contradict me even when they are embarrassingly and obviously wrong.

I put those people on my "buddy list", not because they're my buddies, but it's my way of keeping track of them without having to put them on ignore, which means I lose track of them.

That way, I can be sure to ignore the person but also keep that person visible, which is when I notice they do that to other people as well.

Another pet peeve: The use of the name "Moran" for the word "moron."

People who say something guaranteed to offend or upset vast numbers of DUers and then play the innocent when someone posts a negative response (You know you you are).

Knee-jerk labeling of anyone of (fill in religion here) as a "fundy." In fact, I HATE the word "fundy."

Most disturbing of all: When DUers respond to a news story of, say, a horrible murder or other tragic death with some smart-aleck response or a movie reference. Black humor is a survival mechanism at times, and of course viewers tolerate things in movies they'd never countenance in real life, but I'm concerned that people are reaching pretty disturbing levels of detachment, to say nothing of lack of empathy. And we all know that lack of empathy is one of the traits of a sociopath.

On edit: I forgot this one: threads that begin with nothing but "Look at this" or similar, plus a link to another DU thread -- no description, no cutting and pasting, no explanation, nothing. :grr:
