OMG, great news!
I have these 2 friends who live in Mississippi. Both voted for Bush...twice. And I don't mean simply voted for him. They would defend him and follow unquestioningly. One of them had a husband in Iraq and played the role of "support the commander-in-chief, he knows what's best" military wife.

I just found out that they both joined the Democratic party last week.

Says the military wife, and I quote: I am "so over the Bush reign of terror" :wow:

I've told them both that I want to sit down and discuss what changed their minds. I'll update when I find out. :)

I understand in the 12 years I've been gone, the place has just exploded with development. It's *the* place to live now.

if she had originally envisioned some kind of quick and decisive "victory" in Iraq, and a glorious homecoming for the soldiers?

17. They probably believed what he told us about WMD's
and all that other mess. They fell for it. Took his word for it. Now they see the mess he's made and all of the lives it has cost us and them.

I also have 2 friends that are FINALLY just getting sick of this administration, and they'd voted for Bush. :D

24. When you find out....
bring them to Iowa and have them beat, I mean meet my neighbors. I spent one Friday night trying to drag out of them why Gay marriage is any concern of theirs. The excuses were anywhere from...
"it's biology"
I mentioned apes ducks etc "that is a dominance thing it has nothing to do with sex"

Finally it all came down to the fact they don't like fags using insurance but it took me an eternity to get them to say it.

He ended the night with "the Koran is evil"
My response....
People do evil things in the name of religion, have you ever heard of the crusades?
He left when I made the case that Bush can be seen as a terrorist by other sovereign nations. He invaded a country unprovoked you know. This degenerated into him saying we need to invade Iran, Pakistan, India and other "Nukular" nations. I prey the move back to Texas like they have been threatening to do for a couple years now.

25. By the way, I wouldn't be surpised if military and VA cuts aren't
part of the reason why. Bush talks about supporting the troops but when it comes to brass tacks, his budget screws the troops and veterans.

26. The two greatest regrets in my life: I voted for Nixon not just once.
BUT TWICE GODDAMMIT!! Have never voted Repub since that day. Glad to hear the good news on your friends.

BTW, I suppose that tells you I'm a tad older than most of you guys.
