Man Accused Of Repeatedly Stabbing Sleeping 5-Year-Old Nephew
<snip>

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. -- A five-year-old is in a Pensacola hospital recovering from injuries he received when his uncle allegedly stabbed him with a kitchen knife.

Walton County Sheriff officials say 46-year-old Jeffrey Dailey repeatedly stabbed Jordan Steele in the head, neck, arms and back. Steele is in critical but stable condition.

Deputies say he went after the boy who was sleeping on a couch. Dailey's mother, Paula Terrell defended her grandson and managed to wrestle the knife away from Dailey.

In the process, Terrell was stabbed multiple times in the arms and shoulders. She didn't need to be hospitalized.

Dailey then stabbed himself. He was treated at a hospital and released.

A motive is still trying to be determined.

Daily is charged with aggravated battery and attempted.

There was a whole big deal because her Dr. stopped her meds.
It's a stupid thing to say.

7. I remember that.
It was more of a push from her husband. He felt that, at the time of med stoppage, she shouldn't be on them because of nursing her baby. And it seems like there was no time for therapy because she had to stay home and homeschool them too.

13. She stopped taking anti-psychotic meds.

"Dr. George Ringholz of the Baylor College of Medicine testified that Yates was schizophrenic and suffered psychosis the day she drowned her five children. Ringholz conducted an extensive evaluation of Yates based on her medical history and interviews with three family members, including her husband.

Called by the defense, Ringholz said that Yates had stopped taking her anti-psychotic medication June 6, two weeks before the killings. He said the drug would have been completely out of her system by the time of the June 20 drownings, leading to a dramatic increase in her symptoms."

14. Several articles repeat that misinformation
Here's something from the Houston Chronicle about how Yates and her husband tried to have the psychiatrist arrested for increasing her medication which they said led to the murders.

"... medical records showed that upon her second admittance to Devereux on May 4, Saeed increased her dose of the antidepressant Effexor from 200 to 450 milligrams per day."

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/special/drownings/1360510.html

That misinformation about her not taking meds is repeated because people automatically believe that medication is the answer to mental illness. They also use that propaganda to force citizens to take medications against their will. While I believe that medication helps most people, it doesn't help everyone and forcing people to take them is a violation of their civil rights.

17. The kids were killed in June, not in May.
On June 4th, she was taken of Haldol. Couple of weeks later, she killed her kids.

9. Maybe he's just a bad person
some people do things because they are bad and like to hurt other people. A prime example is the BTK killer.
