Y'all, if something doesn't give soon, I'll be selling everything and moving in with my parents in Portland. I've never lived in Portland and don't really relish the thought of a new city (I get lost very easily) and trying to find a job in a market that's totally unfamiliar to me. That, and I'd have to leave my daughter behind in Ohio. She's in college.

My cats will have a terrible time, especially the 13 year old male. He's not adjusting to change well and my parents hate cats.

I just can't believe that at 44 my life would be in such a mess after trying so hard for so long.

Anyone got a hug or two? I just got back from the doctor's office and I had to borrow the money to pay for my daughter's medication (chronic condition). I feel so humiliated and worthless right now.

tjdee-yes, money would solve all of my short-term problems. I need steady income and benefits. Long-term personal issues are being worked on and the medical issues have been resolved. But as time goes on, my problem is what I can bring to an employer after being so dangerously close to the street and having my confidence so shaken?

I would come limping in, desperate for a paycheck while trying to recover emotionally from all of this. I don't know if I have what it takes anymore to rebound.
