Just Got Back From The Doctor (Update - Sort Of)
Not sure if I feel better or not. Had another mammogram and ultrasound. The radiologist said he thought it was a cyst, and probably liquid. He said I could come back in 6 months for a follow up, or I could have the fluid taken out, so I said I did. I'm seeing the surgeon tomorrow, and the procedure done on Thursday. Since the cyst isn't clear in all areas. it might be hard to aspirate, and if that's the case, they'll do a needle biopsy. I guess I'm a little encouraged because the doctor told me I could come back in 6 months, but I won't breathe a real sigh of relief till I know for 100% sure what is up. From what I saw, the cyst is rounded clearly, and they seemed to think that was good. I hope they can get the fluid out right away - I know that'll be a good sign. It has an 80-99+% change of being "good," so I guess I'll go with that for now. It's just that I've been bothered by this for almost a week already. Thanks for all of your support. I'm hoping and praying for the best.

1. Wow, that's a relief!
Things sound good, but I'll say "break a leg" until you know for sure...

the doc found a bump. Mom has fibroid cysts. He says if feels like a cyst, not to worry.

O.K. Doc, I'm not thinking about it 24/7!! :scared:

I hope all goes well for you.

9. When I was younger, I sweated out fibroids, endometriosis,
ovarian surgery, constant bleeding for months on end and worried myself sick over every symptom that came my way. I wasted a lot of my life worrying instead of doing what you're doing...get it diagnosed and taken care of. And every single time I did go get it checked out, it turned out to be something easily treatable. So, my dear, you will be ok. Trust me.

12. Been through the exact same scenario
when they say it is liquid, which they can see readily in ultrasound, your worries are over.

Hang in there.

13. Thank You All So Much!!!!!!!!!
When this is over, and I can't wait, I'll finally post a pic of me and Liberace when I was 16!
It'll be a big deal if I ever post a pic, but this will be my weird little way of saying thank you, and of course, a donation will be in order.

16. It Was Solid, And They Did A Biopsy
Still said it seemed o.k., low% of being cancerous, still waiting. I should know in a few hours. . .
Tick...tock...tick...tock...

14. I have been in your shoes
And it's not a pleasant place to be. During the month-long process of finding out what this lump was I teetered between hopefulness and utter despair. The "what ifs" were killing me inside. I had a stereotactic biopsy that was relatively painless and required no stitches and thankfully it turned out to be benign. The odds are certainly in your favor and you have my wishes and prayers that things turn out okay for you. Try your best to stay positive and surround yourself with those who love you and will comfort you regardless of the outcome.
