My dad is cooler than *'s dad

Remember that Anti-Telemarketing Database thingy? Well, who is in charge of that? AT&T. Where does my dad work? AT&T.

So, he gets this call from a Vice-President telling him to drop everything and get to work on the telemarketing thingy. Turns out, the hard drives they were using (Sun Microsystems T3 racks, 130GB drives, I think) didn't have the I/O speed that was required. He said AT&T received a presidential order to get it up and running in two weeks, but he may have been stretching that one a bit.

So now he's in charge of building a system capable of handling the data flow that's going to be hammered when the actual telemarketers start querying it. I should've asked him what he's going to use.

Pretty cool, I think.
