Are you saving/putting money aside for something?
It seems like everyone I know is "saving" for something, which, to me, is a good thing (budgets and all).

Like everyone else, it seems, I'm saving for a house with land (sanctuary for the rescues). That's the big ticket item. My car is pretty new and paid for, so I'm not considering putting aside for that.

Small ticket stuff for me is an upgrade to the sound system in my car (6 new speakers and an amp or two, and I've got $500 so far) and yet another upgrade to my video graphics card (one that'll last me a couple years, and I've got almost $200 so far).

So, anyone else?

2. Saving for a car
I'm buying a slightly used one with cash, so I won't have a monthly bill. And of course, I'm saying for my future dotage.

That's really about it. The car is the biggest thing right now... my current ride is 13.5 years old right now and coming up on 130,000 miles.

13. Hmmm...
I was hoping that if you checked in here, your answer would have been as follows:

"I'm saving for a trip to Florida where I'm going to use and abuse my Tampa boytoy to the point of breaking. I want a room overlooking the beach, a hot tub and tons of room service. I'll also need a full time nurse to administer fluids to said boytoy, as I intend to take this one to the limits of any warranty he might have."

Just sayin'...

9. why someday?
we won't always enjoy these low airfare prices, indeed, this year was noticeably more expensive than last year although still well below historical norms

i paid more on a discount ticket in the early 80s to visit europe than i pay today

esp. in winter you might be surprised the deals you can grab if you look around

And its why I was able to retire at 57.

I still save and aside from our retirement savings have put aside an additional ten grand in a little fund. Never quit.

24. Pretty hard to do now days. Then ya wake up one day and
you're seventy years old. Nothing to do cause ya got so much money and ya done it all, seen it all and had it all, and on top of it, you're in perfect health according to the doctor.
You've out grew you're friends, and outlived the ones you loved. The friends you now have bore you to death. Impossible to find hip folks like yourself!

So ya go find a high building. Ya jump off, thinking that death will change everything. But when you're half way down ya change your mind!

Like I said it's too late.

23. A new condo or townhouse
I'm expecting the proceeds from my divorce any day now, and I hope to buy something within the next year. I'm also hoping to buy a new computer/recording studio to go in the spare room of this new condo.

And I'm socking away a couple hundred in my retirement plan every month, too, which is why I'm always so broke all the time. :)

I am saving for early retirement. I don't like getting up at some ungodly hour and drive to a job that is barely tolerable.

I've known I was going for over a year now and only have $1500 saved for the trip. By July, I need $2000 more.
Not sure how I'm gonna do it, but I'm going.

I need a car. That's the #1 thing I'm saving for. After that, I'm going to save for an apartment, a laptop computer, and college.
