How Important Is George Bush - Compared To You and Me?
I do not deny that in the general scheme of things George W. Bush counts for a lot more than I do. The question is how to quantify it.

How do you quantify anyone's importance and how do you measure anyone's importance?

I have devised a measurement. It simply counts points attained by counting the number of persons (one point per person) who would know of it if the person in question were to break his or her arm. For uniformity's sake lets say number of persons who would know within 24 hours of the event.

For me it would be about a dozen - 12 - but half of them would be at a hospital somewhere.

For some poor bastards it would be 1 - just them self.

For George Bush it would be hundreds of millions. The Pope would do even better, maybe the best.

So this is like the Richter Scale. Its exponential. OK, I can live with that.

How about you?

1. My Wife And Daughter Think I'm More Important
Compared to the President, I am way more important to them than he is. That's got to count for something.

2. He is not more important than anyone else as a human being.
But as an adult personality, he is not very important. In the latter context
important is as important does. So he's the pResident, big woop-te-doo, but
does have any important ideas or actions of his own NO.

3. That's only a measure of how well known someone is, not their importance
importance is a very relative question.

What you pose is a very exciting metaphysical and theological question. To the universe, we are all equally important. Shrubbie McFuckstick, as president, has a certain high level of importance only because of his power over people - he can directly affect hundreds of millions of people, even billions. But you might be more important than that worthless piece of shit war criminal because you probably have added more goodness to the world than WonderBoy The ShitStain has.

For the baby, the one who feeds it is the most important person in the world.

For the penitent, the Priest is the most important.

And so on...

4. Sure hundreds of millions of people would know GWB broke his arm
within 24 hours, but how many of them would actually care about it?

Having people who care is more important than having people who just know.

5. He is completely unimportant and

irrelevant. He's a willing puppet. True, if he fell off his bike and broke his arm, people would know, but that wouldn't make him important. Cheney would still be the man behind the curtain.
