19. My platform hasn't gotten very far

I started out wanting an end to war, poverty and hunger. But I only got as far "Donations to DU shall be used to provide nipple clamps to the less fortunate". After that, my platform totally fell apart.

But it's a good start - it'll look great on buttons and bumperstickers.

It is interesting to note that Rev has chosen to impugn my intregity by attempting to make me say terrible things about CG and Heidi. I will not do so. This is a perfect example of the low-down dirty tactics of the other party. (She's the one who wants to give drugs to kids!)

Let us instead look at my record - I have never locked a thread, I have never banned anyone, I have never deleted anyone but myself. And I'm cute.

27. The moderator selection process is pretty simple, really

Each candidate's name is placed in front of an empty jar. We all put either a white ball or a black ball in the jar. A mod candidate that gets a black ball in the jar doesn't get accepted.

I think the first thread had the potential to get "bad" but didn't. And, for better or worse, circumcision is a highly political topic.

The second thread was skating on thin ice from the get go. Although I philosophically and passionately disagree with the "No Sex Threads" rule, it is the rule, so we have to live with it. Personally I would have watched the thread and seen where it went before locking it. But I can't fault BigMcLargeHuge for what he did - he acted responsibly, even though I understand your objection.

I recently had some posts deleted. It's frustrating. My initial response was "what the fuck?" But one of the things I think makes a good mod is to explain why it was necessary to do it. I don't always agree with their decisions. I didn't when my posts were deleted. But I think it makes a huge difference if you are treated as a reasonable adult rather than a naughty little kid. The current crop of mods is pretty good about that. If you ask they will usually explain how and why they came to that decision.
