Vektor and I had lunch together today!
We went out and had Thai food, then we went to Mervyn's, then we went and got coffee!

It was awesome!

We heckled everybody except John Kerry and Howard Dean!

:P

(And she is fucking HYSTERICALLY FUNNY and sharp as a tack)

4. I had a triple mocha
She had a pumpkin latte.

I don't put sugar in regular coffee, but we had to show the Redding Starbucks that we're liberal and proud by ordering fancy espresso drinks.

I woulda stood you to about eight double espressos each if you'd gone afterward to the Record-Searchlight to get seriously liberal on an old nemesis of mine.

Glad it fizzles out some by the time it gets down here. We'll get an inch, tops.

The old nemesis was my editor at the Monterey paper about eight years ago. He's at the R-S now... or was the last I heard. Dude needs a few truckloads of liberal delivered up his ass.

Maybe you should move to a more urban area, like Bakersfield.

I think there are only three other DU'ers in this whole half of the state.

:hi: Porcupine, mike_c, and Vektor!

They've got a real good family-owned paper, and houses are cheap. And I could get the Dodgers on teevee. :bounce:

'Course, it's also Nashville West... :puke:

26. San Benito
Third-poorest county in the state. :evilfrown:

I've seen some really nice parts of Bakersfield, on the west side. Seen some crappy parts too. On the whole, it'd be a step up.

Hey, they've got minor-league baseball and hockey. :bounce:

I remember you saying this before, but I didn't remember whether it was eastern Mty, southern Sta Cla, or San Bto.

You probably have better weather than Bakersfield, and I'd guess fewer Freeptards, but feel free to edumacate me about that if I'm wrong.

Bakersfield smells. :P

31. DU just bit you too, huh?
I thought the post I made before this one wasn't gonna make it. It just sat there for like a minute.

We've prolly got fewer Freepers than B'field — it is in The Valley, after all — but we've got our share, since this is also an ag town. (About three months ago, two factions of the local RCC were fighting among themselves and it got in the papers and everything.) There's an "In Black" group that stands at a downtown intersection every Friday in silent protest, and across the street are a group of Freepers telling them they're wrong. :eyes:

What does B'field smell like? Ag stuff? I'm used to that.
