the delivery charge was not in the original quote and therefor there's not enough money in the purchase order no i can't cut a check minus the delivery charge and allow the vendor to bill you for delivery in a separate invoice because that would mean that things could get done today without having to take 13 extra steps and have triplicate forms signed by people who are on vacation wait a minute aren't i supposed to be on vacation what the hell am i doing here and why am i always sorting out every accounts payable tangle in this god forsaken bureaucracy i'm a damned fundraising executive don't we have an office manager for this it's because i'm the only one who knows the convoluted system well enough to actually get things done sure would be nice not to know anything and then maybe i could focus on my own job description ha ha
