What's a good brand of champagne to be drinking tomorrow night?

1. Naughty naughty you.
:spank:

Nah, just kidding. I'm more of a vodka clear liquor type. I have a friend who love wine and champagne though. I'm not much of a wine or champagne drinker unfortunately.

2. Veuve-Cliquot
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 01:12 PM by Rabrrrrrr
(And I probably spelled that wrong, and I didn't feel like looking it up)

Piper-Heidsig is also a good one.

If you don't want the expense of champagne (which is sparkling wine only from the Champagne region of France), sparkling wine is a good alternative - I love the Freixenet Brut, which comes from Spain, and is easily drinkable by itself but also makes a great Bellinis and French 75s. And be sure to get enough so that you can make some breakfast Mimosas on New Year's Day.

5. Seconded both the champagne recommendations.
Turning to champagnoise, I'll add prosecco which is an Italian one.

6. We often went with prosecco - I love...
umm... crap, I had it on the tip of my tongue and now it's gone.

Oh - Mionetti! Or something like that. Damn!! I generally preferred that over any other champagne or sparkling wine, especially since it mixes so well with fruit. We used to have access to a wide variety of the more unusual fruit juices (at the grocery store in NYC) - apricot, peach, pear, etc. - and they were all excellent with the prosecco.

7. Anime Prosecco is de-lish.
I prefer Prosecco over Champagne most of the time.

3. Champagne or sparkling white wine? My picks:
Champagne: Alfred Gratien
Sparkling White Wine: Biltmore Estates

8. Among domestic varieties
Washington State's Chateau Ste Michelle is made by the Methode Champagnoise and is a bargain.

Amongst pricy French champagnes I'd add Taittinger to the Veuve Cliquot and Pieper-Heisdeck mentioned above. :9

9. Depends on how much you want to spend:
Around $30:

- Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial
- Louis Roederer Brut Premier (My suggestion)
- Laurent Perrier Brut L.P.

over $30:

- Champagne Deutz Brut
- Champagne Deutz Blanc de Blancs
