Pack of angry Chihuahuas attack officer in Fremont
Pack of angry Chihuahuas attack officer in Fremont

Friday, December 30, 2005

(12-30) 08:56 PST Fremont, Calif. (AP) --

A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home following a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries including bites to his ankle on Thursday when the five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway, said Fremont detective Bill Veteran.

And it was the second bizarre incident in as many hours for the Fremont Police Department.

Two hours earlier, a homeowner in Niles reported that an intruder broke into her home and added pornography to her computer.

The woman said she woke up and was startled to see a stranger typing away on her computer. The intruder fled, but left behind an altered screen saver that featured images of "erotic Indian art," Veteran said.

BTW This is sarcasm, I believe any breed can be vicious or tame, depending on how it's trained.

7. ROFLMAO.
I used to groom dogs for a living. I remember ALWAYS being on guard when grooming chihuahuas. They can be grumpy little things sometimes. I can just see a pack of them ganging up on somebody.

16. God bless you, my dear
I bet you have a lot of stories to tell.

I treat my groomer like a princess, because she gives my doggies the royal treatment.

17. It's hard work especially the way my old boss used to do it.
Edited on Sat Dec-31-05 12:09 AM by Jamastiene
She would load us up with 20 dogs plus in one day. Eight dogs a day is considered a full day's work. It was really tough. My back still hurt over 10 years after leaving that line of work. Groomers DO get attached to your dogs emotionally sometimes too. I know it sounds strange, but there are still dogs that I remember, but I don't always remember the owners. I guess it was because the dogs were there longer with me in the shop. It doesn't hurt to slip a tip to the dog washers if possible. That's the hard part, believe it or not.

Here is a hilarious story I like to laugh about.

My boss had been really grumpy that day. She insisted on washing this one certain dog herself. She was standing there griping at me for being too slow and I had had it. I had the hose in my hand. It was summer. I was young. I have a sense of humor. Next thing you know, my boss had the hose from the sink pointed at her. I don't know if you watch Malcom In The Middle, but I was like Reese. Once I made it to that position, there was no turning back. It was either do or die. She said you better not, and scared me. I knew I would get it either way, so I let loose with the hose. It was fun. She was mad, but by the time I realized she was in no joking mood, she had already noticed I had the hose turned toward her. I had to go through with it.

Then, she was soaking wet and it was time for her to wash that one dog she always insisted on washing. I can't remember why she washed that one in particular. We wore these smock thingies with pockets at the waist. She had two pockets that stood out because that was where she kept the cash for change. She was standing there fussing at me to no end because I had hosed her. She picked the dog up and turned around. Next thing you know, the dog started shitting right there in the air while she held it next to her. One or two of them hit her right in the waist too. I had been avenged or so I thought. Little did I know it was about to get even better.

Later, she kept asking me if I stepped in something. I kept saying no, indignant. We THOUGHT we had cleaned the turds all up. Well, when the next customer gave her the money and she reached for change, we all found out what the smell was. One of the

had landed in her pocket.
I hit the floor literally clutching my side, I laughed so hard. The dog had shit in her pocket. I felt like both I and the dog had some justice at that point. Needless to say, the customer saw that and said to keep the change. I couldn't blame them. It was that soft kind of mushy puppy shit too.

10. Alpha Chihuahua: "SWARM! SWARM!"
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 02:09 PM by musette_sf
What a treat to get to read this on the Gate today! Otherwise I would have had to wait until next week's "Siren Sounds" column in the Fremont Bulletin (weekly wiper delivered to my driveway).

On edit:
Headlines You'll Never See: "Pack of angry rescue cats attack officer in Fremont". Because they run and hide from the freakin' mailman, much less the cops.

Junior stands guard (till the mailman comes), George in window, Cleo and Ratso hiding somewhere

11. He looks like my toughguy ..
with ample girth ..

Don't show my hubby; Oz had a stroke/heart-attack about 4 years ago and passed away. He was 7 (had hidden heart defect that no doctor detected).

But we have ... Snowball (macho male), Dot, and Minnie now; Minnie is 20 years old! Dot and Snowball are a few years old.

Say 'hello' to the tough guy for me!

detected at his kitten checkup. We hope for the best. He's 5 now and seems to be doing okay but we keep an eye on him.

Junior sends kitty thoughts to Oz at Rainbow Bridge, and all our guys say hi to all your guys.

Peace out to my CRS friend!
