Here we are at the end of the final week of 2005! Tomorrow is New Years Eve and I'm off and I'm so glad to be! It's been too long without time away from my store for a day. I hope all you Nighthawks have had a great night!

I used to work for OfficeMax in my hometown, and we had a tornado warning on this particular day and according to the weather map, the stupid thing was headed right for our area of town. So I herded everyone to the designated shelter area and several of them were all mad that they had to stop shopping to wait for the tornado! I mean, the entire front of my store was glass. If anyone were in front of them and they blew out, that person would be cut to ribbons. I took some tongue lashings for not letting them go out to the sales floor to shop. :eyes:

60. I recall reading a tale by a firefighter once

He was telling of a time his unit responded to a call in a restaurant. The kitchen was on fire, the place was filling up with smoke and still some patrons were sitting at their tables eating. When the firefighters told them they had to leave because the building was on fire they responded, "We haven't finished our dinner yet". :crazy:

38. yes sir, drive had to be replaced, hubby will run it cross town...

to a tech he knows to have it extracted en mass, but at this time, all our stuff is on that disk, we have essential backup...but still x( there have been certain & specific programs & access that i use for my client/contract work that will need to be reestablished & prioritized mui pronto as i've been operating on the good will of others & my, thankfully, professional rep :thumbsup: B-)

50. G'day Clint - a hot and humid eve of New Year's Eve here

in beautiful downtown Brisbane - hope y'all had a great Christmas - it nudged 100 degrees here on Christmas Day - brutal. I'll be watching the fireworks here tomorrow night - once at 9pm then again at the magic hour.

I hope 2006 is a better year than 2005 was - it frankly sucked. Happy New Year !!!!

53. Christmas is always a madhouse with me - I'm so disorganised

doing last-minute shopping, wrapping, tearing what's left of my hair out. But it's over now for another year so maybe I'll get back into some sort of routine, which includes posting in DU again.

And (boasting here) I cleaned my apartment the other day so that'll be that for a few weeks (I'm such a pig). And you're right - a united front is what's needed for us to help give Junior the reputation-trashing he so richly deserves, but it'll be a long struggle - providing antidote to the Kool-Aid won't be easy.
