Roll call - Who's up at this ridiculous hour?

Ridiculous being the middle of the night in the US and 10.15 am in the UK on a Saturday.

Yes, I'm at work and bored. How'd ya guess?

Pretty damn bored. But I'm a night owl.
How's life in the UK? People ok w/ Coldplay's Chris Martin (he's huge there I hear) getting arrested? :hi:

8. Life's good in the UK thanks!
Glad to be home. I loved my time in the US, but it's lovely to be back.

Rock stars will be rock stars. And yes, they are huge. Look out for a band called 'The Darkness' they will be very big. Tipped to win the Mercury music award.

12. How friendly is the UK?
This may be a silly question, but I want to go to the UK (I've been bitten by the travel bug I must admit) quite badly. I've heard nothing but lovely things about the folks in the UK being friendly to Yanks when we visit you guys.
BTW, LOVE British accents.. :9

15. I think it's very friendly.
It all depends on where you go. London and the big cities are like any big city in the states, you can come across people who are rude but that's the same anywhere. Go exploring, Wales, West country, Scotland, Cotswolds, (you'd LOVE the Cotswolds).

I can help if you want a few ideas.

I'll be going to bed soon. (I think.)

Edited to change the time in the subject line. Apparently, my clock is 3 minutes faster than the DU clock.

18. This is what 3 in the morning at the office looks like...

Great country up there. I'm hoping to travel back to the UK but probably not before 2005. My dad's from Scotland, and I'm hoping to get back for a visit.

In the meantime I'll live vicariously thru the pages of The Guardian's U.S. edition magazine once it's introduced here.

13. Hi...........I am up
And I have to ask since you are in the UK.......

I was over at the Guardian's talk boards in the international forum. Is it my imaginiation or is there A LOT more resentment against the US in the UK than there was even a month ago? USually the vitriol is toward BUSH and the republicans, but last night when I went there.......it seemed that it was more a general attidude of "those f'ing americans this and that"

Not that I blame you guys for being VERY MAD

What do you think?

17. I think the vitriol is a result of Bush really.
We all roll our eyes and complain about the 'septics' but I think it's generally a result of the Bush policies more than a dislike of Americans per se.

The stereotypical American tourists give Americans a bad name anyway. Brits tend to feel that Americans are generally disinterested in anything that goes on outside of your borders and therefore pretty uninformed when it comes to what's really happening.

We love you guys really. :-)

22. Recovering from Surgery and Full of Drugs
I was going to go to bed earlier, but my brother called, and since he's one of my favorite people and hard to get a hold of, I gladly put off bedtime. Soon I'll take more drugs and pass out.
