giving Power of Attorney without first seeking legal advice is foolish - just MHO.

4. I would still recommend seeing an attorney, do it right and acknowledge
that an earlier one exists but should be voided by the current one. Language an attorney would know how to put in the P.O.A.

I still think that's the best bet.

States have specific requirements for powers of attorney. If you do not follow them, the attorney-in-fact may end up with no authority and be personally liable for everything he or she does. On the other hand, the a-i-f may end up with a lot more than the principal intended.

Pay a $100 and do it right. It's a lot cheaper than litigation.
