Woman Locked Out Of Car By Cat (Mork) - something to lighten your day
Woman Locked Out Of Car By Cat

POSTED: 7:31 pm EST December 28, 2005

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Locking yourself out of your car is bad enough, but Jeanna Stewart was even more embarrassed when the culprit was not her, but her cat.

The Morgantown resident said she was getting a spare house key out her car's trunk on Monday when her cat Mork, one of three in the car, stepped on the automatic door lock. She couldn't unlock the door because she had left her car keys on the driver's seat.

"He wouldn't unlock the door for me," Stewart said Tuesday. "He was standing there, saying why aren't you opening the door? I want to go inside."

Stewart went into her house and called the Morgantown Fire Department for help. She said she was mainly concerned about freeing Mork and the other cats, Minday and Alex.

2. Poor kitties!
Mine won't go in my car, only on the hood and the roof. If I have to take them somewhere, they totally freak out.

12. duh, the fire department does it for free
People have been calling them instead of ambulances too, for the same reason.

But why is one cat named Alex instead of Exedor? Or what was Jonathan Winters' name on the show, was it Alex?

6. My dog does this ALL the time!
The advantage I have is that there's a key pad on the outside of my door to unlock the car!

He's a dear little Bichon who loves to play with the buttons on the door. He's always putting the power window up and down, and locking or unlocking the door.

7. There's A Commercial Where The Little Dog Does That To A Guy
I think it's a hoot.

Now, i have a similar personal experience. When i got my dog, and he was about 7 months old, i took him with me to the gas station to get milk. It was cold so i left the car running, took the remote with me, and locked the doors, with him in the car. I was in there only about 2 minutes and as i turned to leave, he was standing outside the door of the station looking in the window at me.

He had gone to the window and hit the window button that has the "express" down feature. So, the window opened all the way, and he jumped out and went to the door he saw me enter.

Man, was i surprised. But, fortunately, he was already loyal enough that he wasn't interested in getting away, merely getting TO ME! So, i can see how that stuff could happen.

Skunks come in and clean out any remaining cat food most nights-- freaked me out at first, but now they're like part of the family-- so the furballs camp out on my chest every morning until I get up and feed them.

9. My 10 pound dog locked me out of the *house*
Try explaining that one. I went out on the front porch to water flowers. He jumped at the door and turned the deadbolt. Now I don't ever leave the house without a key. Never.

14. I had a dog knock a parked (borrowed) pickup truck into gear
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 03:21 PM by hlthe2b
and as it slowly backed down the parkinglng lot into the street, other
customers pointed it out to me, as I stood in line at a 711. I've never moved so fast in my life. Fortunately, the lot wasn't sloped too much and I managed to get the door open and slam in the brake just in time. Meanwhile my lab was just wagging her tail having the best time! (and no, the ignition wasn't on... some of those older Ford pickups can pretty readily be knocked into gear)

These little furry bundles can sure cause problems, but I'd never think of being without them! :loveya:

16. It's why I retired the answering machine years ago
And got voice mail... I was wondering why I never got any messages people were always saying they left me, even after I bought a new machine. Then, one day when I was home, I caught the damn cats jumping on the answering machine buttons to hear it beep. Mystery solved.

I love the furry little buggers!
