Why are people saying "King Kong" is a great movie?
I really need some good reasons to see a 3 hour movie. Is it the theme or a problem it presents in an intriguing way? Is it just special effects? Is it acting? I am clueless as to its appeal!

2. Supposedly, it has a classic Hollywood feel to it.
The same way that Titanic seemed like a throwback to the golden age of film.

3. Really? I would have thought
the thrill was in watching crazy stuff go on in Manhattan. But maybe that was a Hollywood thing.

4. I saw it last week and really enjoyed it.
I wouldn't call it a classic, but it was a fun, adventurous flick. It doesn't feel like a 3 hour movie -- it moves pretty quick. Maybe because it's sorta broken into three parts -- Manhattan/ship, island, and back to Manhattan/Empire State Building. There's some pretty cool action sequences worth checking out on the big screen. Worth a trip.

8. Because it is a great movie
Most of the acting was excellent, especially the interaction between Kong and the Fay Wray character. Jack Black was perfectly cast.

But most importantly, the story is the real clincher - it's simply a timeless, wonderful and compelling story.

9. You will believe an ape can emote.
Kong shows a greater emotional range than Adrian Brody.
